What I use

Signal

  • Why I use it: You use Signal because it’s a secure messaging app that uses end-to-end encryption to protect your messages and calls from prying eyes.
  • What it does: With Signal, your messages are encrypted from the time you send them to the time the recipient receives them, ensuring that no one can intercept or access them.

ProtonMail

  • Why I use it: You use ProtonMail because it’s a privacy-focused email service that uses encryption to protect your emails and personal information.
  • What it does: With ProtonMail, your emails are encrypted on the server and only you and the recipient have the keys to decrypt them, ensuring that no one else can access your information.

SimpleLogin

  • Why I use it: You use SimpleLogin because it’s a privacy-focused email alias service that helps you protect your privacy by using multiple email addresses instead of a single one.
  • What it does: With SimpleLogin, you can use different email addresses for different purposes, keeping your personal information separate and secure.

Security keys

  • Why I use it: I use security keys because they provide an extra layer of security for your online accounts.
  • What it does: When you use a security key, you simply plug it into your device and tap it to sign into your account. Security keys use encryption and provide a more secure alternative to traditional passwords, as they cannot be easily hacked or stolen.

Password manager

  • Why you use it: I use a password manager because it helps me securely store and manage all of your passwords in one place.
  • What it does: With a password manager, you can generate strong, unique passwords for all of your accounts, and the password manager will automatically log you in and fill in your password for you.

DNS Ad-blocker

  • Why you use it: I use an ad-blocker because it helps protect my privacy and reduce clutter on websites.

  • What it does: An ad-blocker blocks unwanted ads, pop-ups, and trackers from appearing on websites, giving you a cleaner and more private browsing experience.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  • Why you use it: I use Two-Factor Authentication to add an extra layer of security to your online accounts.

  • What it does: With 2FA enabled, you need to provide two forms of authentication before logging in to your account, such as a password and a one-time code sent to your phone.

Disk Encryption

  • Why you use it: I use disk encryption to protect my sensitive data and files in case your computer is lost or stolen.

  • What it does: Disk encryption encrypts the data stored on your hard drive, ensuring that even if someone gains access to your computer, they cannot access your sensitive information.

Each of these tools serves a different purpose, but they all have one thing in common: they help you protect your privacy and security online. Whether you’re looking to encrypt your messages, keep your personal information separate, or add an extra layer of security to your online accounts, these tools can help you stay safe and secure in the digital world.
